I was born and bred in a place where coffee is not hugely celebrated. I could not understand the certain appreciation of coffee, until 7 years ago when I first settled into Australia. Still, I was not fully aware of how big of a deal it is, not until I started working professionally where coffee is part of the office culture.
Started with flavoured mocha (I am a chocoholic so it's only fair) from different chain giants like Starbucks, Gloria Jean's and The Coffee Bean, and eventually discovered barista coffee, and I never looked back since.
...Well, unless I am totally broke at the end of the month and the only way is to PayPass at Starbucks where there is no minimum EFTPOS...
I have recently made a huge decision of leaving the vibrant city of Sydney to relocate down to Melbourne permanently. I came down feeling very nervous if I would like Melbourne as much as I have loved Sydney. The verdict? You cannot compare these two cities, they are completely different. Sydney is party, Melbourne is arty. Sydney has beaches, Melbourne has cafes. So many that I have turned my caffeine obsession to a passion. I have turned from a person who always sticks to one favourite barista to wanting to try different ones every time.
It's been more than a month since I live in soulful Melbourne, and have tried many cafes from Day 1. It has been quite an experience and I guess it's time to start recording my amazing journey here in #sundaycoffeerun
